This study was conducted in Dinajpur from 18 January to 11 May 2020 following lysimeter and magic pipe method at different growth stages of BRRI dhan-28 with respect to soil parameter (sand, silt and clay) to determine the Seepage and Percolation (S&P) and evapotranspiration (ET) by the lysimeter method and general water loss including ET and S&P through magic pipe. The soil was loam having 37.60% sand, 36.00% silt and 26.40% clay. Water loss (S&P) was combined with evapotranspiration to determine the total water requirement. Lysimeter was employed and S&P loss was found 4.73 mm day-1 with an average 543.00 mm for the whole growing season. The estimated ET for the total growing season was found to be 686.90 mm with an average of 5.9 mm day-1. The total water requirement was 1229.90 mm. Through magic pipe 1, 2, 3, water loss was found 13.568, 13.568, and 13.578 mm/day during irrigation period. The S&P loss for three different plots were 8.09, 8.091, and 8.106 mm/day. The crop water requirements were 35.03, 32.83 and 32.14 % for vegetative, reproductive and ripening stages respectively. The average S&P loss was 6.41 mm/day and evapotranspiration were 5.9 mm/day. Among total estimated losses, about 44 % S&P loss and 56 % ET was evaluated respectively. Land soaking, land preparation, and surface drainage loss was not included in this water requirement.
